Afterwards you will be asked to give you user name and password.

The next step consists of deciding whether or not using the passive mode. Most of the servers require it, others do not. Because the majority of servers work with the passive mode although they probably do not need it, you can confidently confirm by „y“.

Finally you are asked to put in the folder on the server you want to use for syncronisation. To choose the root directory just press enter without putting in any specific one.

After that the program has got all required data to connect wth the server. The only missing one is your local path. Here you should give the directory where you can find all your local files of the project. This information can be given as an absolute path (C:/Test/Local/) or a relative path depending on where SyncroFTPLight is located on your System. (./Local/).

In the last step you can make sure the program saves your data. If you confirm by „y“ the program will create a file named „SyncroFTPLightSettings.ini in the program's folder. Next time you use the program you will not have to put in all your data again.

After all this information SyncroFTPLite will syncronise your local files with the ones on the server. Finally you will get to see some statistics about the process.

Editing SyncroFTPLightSettings manually

With some experience you can easily create the settings file manually or edit it. Therefore please open „SyncroFTPLightSettings.ini“ in an appropriate editor, the windows notepad will work for this. The file always has the following body:

[FTP-Information]
Host=server
User=user name
Passwd=password
HomeDir=path on server
[Localinformation]
Path=local path

Please edit the information given on the right hand (behind =) to your desired configuration. Please save your file as „SyncroFTPLightSettings.ini“ to complete configuration.
